This category of the EAAwards recognized filmmakers and movie actors, relative to their contribution to the development of the Ghanaian film industry through movies and international features. It targets all facets of cinematography, film making, film artistry and social media presence, in the year under review.
GHANAIAN MOVIE OF THE YEAR

Ghanaian Movie of the Year: Perfect Picture - 10 Years Later

The Ghanaian Movie of The Year is adjudged by the EAA Academy, as the movie that attracted the highest level of public reception and critical acclaim. Premiere numbers, streams and general public sentiment about the film shall all be considered.

Female Actor of the Year: Nana Ama Mcbrown

The Female Actor of the Year is adjudged by the EAA Academy as the female actor who exhibited prowess in technically interpreting her role in a particular movie released in the year under review. Public reception and critical acclaim shall also be considered.

This award goes to the film director, who exhibited outstanding direction and artistic interpretation of a film released in the year under review.

This award is adjudged by EAA Academy as the film with the most outstanding picture aesthetics.

Music

This category focused on awarding artiste(s) who have churned out singles, EPs, Albums, records and other musical bodies of work, within the Ghanaian music space. Reasonable consideration was given to their interpretation of their chosen musical genre, as well as their contribution to the growth of the Arts and Entertainment industry of Ghana. Their live performances, curated tours or projects, social media presence and influence in the year under review shall also be examined.

Best Female Artist: Adina

The Female Artist of the Year is adjudged by the EAA Academy as the female Ghanaian musical artist who released a song, an EP or album in the year under review. She must have gained prominence through airplay, online streaming views and must have won the hearts of music enthusiasts and critics, with her outstanding stagecraft and performances.

Best Music Video: Inna Song

The Best Music Video award goes to the video with the best pictures and storyline. The strength of the cinematography and the all-round production quality shall be of utmost importance, in this category. It gives credence to the artistic qualities of the video, without much consideration of album sales or chart positions.

Cultural Troupe of the Year: Kwan Pa

This award goes to the cultural ensemble that would have become more visible, through performances and/or recordings, in the year under review.

This category of the EAAwards  focuses on the recognition of sportsmen and women in all branches of sports, as well as sports administrators who have been instrumental or who have significantly influenced the development of the Ghanaian Sports Industry and Social Media community, in the year under review.

Sportsman of the Year: Jonathan Mensah

The Sportsman of the Year is a male personality in the field of sports, who would have excelled in the year under review and affected his society positively, while having succeeded at inspiring others through sports.

ONLINE CREATOR

Online (Website/ Blog/ YouTube/ Instagram): Kwadwo Sheldon

This award goes to any media personality whose works online have projected the Arts and Entertainment sector, through articles/write-ups, videos and still images.

Writing & Poetry

This category acknowledges the contribution of writers in respective social fields or settings and the impact of their work on the society. Their intellectual work is subjected to scrutiny in tandem with copyrights and publishing regulations (both hardware and software) as well as online in the year under review. It must also be noted that where the writers are concerned, the period under review may range between two (2) to five (5) years, at the discretion of the organisers and the EAA Academy.
Winner – PEACE ADZO MEDIE

Best Author: Peace Adzo Medie

This award goes to a single writer of one or more of the literary genres of Prose, Poetry or Creative Nonfiction, who has released a piece of work, or a body of work, within the stipulated period under review. The winner must have distinguished himself/herself through his/her creative choices, prosaic technique, thematic focus and stylistic risks. The EAA shall also consider public reception, sphere of distribution and critical acclaim.

Best Performance Poet: Nana Asaase

This would be the Performance Poet who has performed at major shows and who has contributed immensely to the Poetry industry, in the year under review. The winner must have released/ published at least one popular Spoken Word track, or must have gained prominence through his/her outstanding stagecraft and performances. The Best Performance Poet must also have attained the highest level of public reception and critical acclaim, in the year under review.

Events

This category seeks to recognize events within the Events and Planning space, which would have been organized in the year under review. Credence is given to Event Organizers, Planners and Events held either physically or virtually and which may be considered to be outstanding, as well as the quintessence of best industry practice.

Comedy

This category focuses on awarding comedians who have distinguished themselves, within their field of endeavor. For this award, The EAA Academy shall consider the winner’s reasonable following and influence on social media, in addition to his/her contribution to the growth of the Ghanaian Comedy industry. Their works (i.e. comedy shows, events which they have hosted, special projects etc.) shall be vetted for viability, in the year under review.

Photography

This category causes people to stop and ponder over the many compelling images that may have caught their attention on Social Media and the internet in general, Billboards, in magazines and via other media. Those photographs would have been captured by talented and skilled photographers, who deserve to be recognised on a stage as mammoth as the Entertainment Achievement Awards.

Photographer of the Year: Bob Pixel

This award goes to the photographer, who would have distinguished himself/herself in the Art of Photography, within the year under review. His/Her work must be diverse and versatile, cutting across various genres of Photography. The EAA Academy shall consider the level of difficulty that may have been endured in order to capture a particular shot. Creativity, humanitarian value, application of technique, clarity of expression and uniqueness of concept are also some of the factors that would lead a photographer to win this category.

This category focuses on celebrating excellence within the fashion industry and supporting the future pipeline of creative, fashion-focused talent. Primarily, it shall cover fashion designers and models.

Accessories Designer of the Year: Velma’s Accessories

This award goes to the designer whose work has projected accessories in the fashion industry, thereby commanding global presence with its creativity and commercial value. The EAA academy shall consider authenticity and the potential of the winner to amplify the Ghanaian and African voice, through fashion.

The Entertainment Personality of the Year may come from any of the subcategories of the Entertainment industry.
